Several easily implemented changes could improve parking for students who live on campus. They cost almost nothing to implement, and will result in a more logical arrangement for everyone.
Eliminate or reduce the added maintenance marking spots in SH1. I’ve never actually seen a maintenance cart parked in one. Most of the time, they just park on the street, which doesn’t pose a problem.
Why not, for example, convert one of these rarely used spaces into a motorcycle space? More than one motorcycle can fit in a space, and potentially all motorcycles that park in SH1 and SH2 could fit into two. Changing one of these maintenance spots into another 30-minute spot would make unloading and loading cars easier for residents of Anacapa.
Create two types of parking permit: SH1 and SH2. SH1 would only be available to residents of Anacapa, and would allow parking in SH1 and SH2. SH2 would only be available to residents of Santa Cruz, and would allow parking only in SH2 – but would be significantly cheaper.
On a related note, the path to SH2, and the lot itself, are in desperate need of improved lighting. SH2 is referred to by many students as the “rape lot”, because the lack of good lighting would make it easier for people to be attacked. New lights are inexpensive compared to the added security they provide.

Feeling, I thought that it is only me who has back pain. But soon I learnt that almost Americans experience back pain at least once in their life time. What finally helped me was Jesse Canonne’s system. And he published a book recently of how to conquer back pain. And Jesse is giving it away for free. I justed checked and Jesse, co-founder of the Healthy Back Institute, offers his new book The 7 Day Back Pain Cure still for free. Click on my name above and get it while it is still free. Juliet
AMEN! Please continue to preach this to admin so some long awaited change can come!
