The CI View Student Newspaper exists to provide timely information for students, staff, faculty, and the community at large about important news and events centering around CSUCI and the surrounding areas.

Who are we?

Tristan Cassel - Editor-in-Chief

Hi! My name is Tristan and I’m in my fifth year here at CSUCI, so basically I’m a Super Senior. I’m now in my second year with the CI View, having taken over the Editor-in-Chief position after being last year’s Graphics and Layout Editor. I have a lot of varied interests but love anything to do with design, hockey (go Kings!), computers, and sci-fi. I’m also currently really into anything steampunk or cyberpunk. If you see me wandering around CI feel free to say hi! So if you want to get involved on campus and you like to write or take photos or just have opinions, come see what we’re all about! I know, I know, a shameless plug for the paper, IN the paper. But hey, who says you don’t learn anything from watching Mad Men?

Nick Rester - Managing Editor

My name is Nick Rester and I’m an English major in my junior year. I write fiction prose, poetry, and screenplays and hope to write novels professionally out of college. My favorite band is Marcy Playground, which you probably haven’t heard of, but if you have I owe you a high-five. My artist of choice is Banksy. My favorite writer, Chuck Palahniuk. Hearing people’s opinions and voices is what’s important to me. Whether it’s going to unite ideas or stir up conflict, our newspaper is ready.

Chelsea Archer Layout/Design and Distribution Editor

Hello my name is Chelsea Lyndsy Archer. This is my fifth year at CSUCI. I am a Studio Art major with an emphasis in photography and a biology minor. I think of myself as silly, laid back, and outgoing.  My parents are English (but I don’t hear their accents much). I collect gnomes and owls. I LOVE pizza. Fun Fact: I was an original member of the anime club here at CSUCI (proof is in the first yearbook).

Last school year I was a staff photographer for the CI View. This year I am very excited to be the Graphics and Layout Editor, and I hope I can pump up the image content throughout the paper. If you would like to get involved by photographing an event I’m the one to contact!

Shira Moskowitz - Ad Manager

My name is Shira Moskowitz and I’m a sophomore at CSUCI. It’s my first year being an editor for the CI View and I’m really excited about it. I’m currently studying to become an elementary school teacher, and so far I love it! My favorite color is pink and my favorite thing to eat is chocolate. And I can’t wait for what this amazing year has to bring!
