This week’s artist highlight puts the spotlight on Gabby Larsen, fourth year Studio Arts major. When asked about when she took an interest in art, they responded with, “I always liked drawing. I just felt drawn to it. I would sometimes use it as a way to get away from my brother when I didn’t feel like playing with him,” she added with a laugh. Larsen said they are inspired by a lot of Indie animations and that she also enjoys finding inspiration from other artists on Instagram. She mentioned her experience in experimenting with a lot of different mediums, though right now digital and printmaking are said to be their go-tos. They said, “For the future, I hope to have a cottage in the woods to create art, that would make me happy, or just any job in the art world would be nice.” Larsen is also the president of the Media Arts Club on campus, which is hosting a Fall Exhibition called “Something is Buzzing and it’s Not Just the Flies.” Submissions for the Exhibition have started and will close on November 24, 2025.
