In February 2022, The CI View transitioned from print to a fully digital format in an effort to save paper, reduce printing costs, and expand its reach to a larger, digital audience. Since its founding in 2003, the publication had been a staple of student journalism at CSUCI, but as digital platforms became more prevalent, it became clear that shifting to an online-only format would better align with the evolving needs of both readers and the environment. This transition allowed The CI View to continue delivering timely and relevant content to its audience while embracing sustainability and modern media consumption habits.
