The end of the semester is here, with only a couple weeks left of the semester, it can be hard to keep pushing through with summer right around the corner. There are many nerves and moments of anticipation that come during this time. Here at The CI View, we continue our work even with our busy schedules.
Deputy Editor / Operations & Multimedia Lead, Dani Ramirez expresses excitement when discussing her plans for the end of the semester. Ramirez looks forward to, “hanging out with friends and playing a lot of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. I’ve been waiting for the game since I was nine years old so I’m super excited to finally be able to play the newest release.” In regards to academics and wrapping up the semester, Ramirez continues to do work in her art classes and continues her work on graphics and other related tasks here at The CI View.
Timothy Walker, Senior Editor & Board Liaison, also has much planned for the summer after graduation. He expresses his “rolodex” of various activities and things to do, including, “going to Lake Havasu a few times and working some landscaping, an internship, and as a martial arts trainer.” He also shared that there is a good chance you will find him “swimming and hiking in and around the waterfalls of Mount Baldy or reading at an old, quiet tea shop down the road in Claremont from day to day.” and cooking with his cat “of course.” With a busy schedule and activities to look forward to in the future, at the moment Walker expresses how he gives himself rest. Walker expresses, “the world here goes by fast enough, so finding moments with loved ones and nature on campus I can slow down for has been my priority.”
Media editor Madelaine Brown’s summer plans are focused on herself. Brown’s main goal is, “to get a summer focused job that helps me stay motivated for my future career while also boosting my credibility in my resume.” To tie up the semester Brown expresses her ideas of having balance but also seeking new opportunities to try and do new things. Brown states, “Overall I want to enjoy the rest of the semester and have as many opportunities to have fun as possible.”
Executive editor Steven Mynott states, “It’s important to finish the semester strong. With summer coming up, it can be easy to feel like you’re mentally checking out early.” Mynott hopes to stay locked in and focused on finishing the semester strong. During the summer Mynott looks forward to graduating and some summer plans with family.
With such a short bit of time and so much to expect and look forward to, it is important to remind yourself to take your time. We at The CI View understand and also have a lot going on as well, but we look forward to closing off the semester on a great note.
