Since its debut in 2020, Fields of Funk is highly anticipated, for music and Halloween lovers alike. The music festival encourages festival goers to dress up in costume, as they dance, dine and drink.
The Santa Barbara, California music festival, Fields of Funk, showcases emerging Central Coast artists, as well as larger headliners. This year’s line up features a variety of bands and deejays, including The Buttertones, 54 Ultra, LP Giobbi, Regularfantasy, and Washed Out. Aside from the three stages of music, the festival offers food trucks, local vendors, art installations, a silent disco, and a full bar. The festival allows attendees to bring in outside food and sealed beverages, as well as blankets and chairs. However due to alcohol regulations, the event is strictly ages 21 and over.
In an interview with the Santa Barbara Independent, Fields of Funk founder Logan Goldberg, shared his hopes and vision for the festival. The article noted that Goldberg is trying “to incorporate as many regional food and retail vendors as possible, and is working with the Arts Fund to raise money for Santa Barbara arts programs.” According to the Santa Barbara Independent article, Goldberg also shared that his intention with starting the festival is “… to highlight Santa Barbara.” By combining philanthropy, community and fun, Goldberg has achieved just that.
Fields of Funk also offers volunteer positions, for before, during and after the festival. For those interested in participating, applications are open for volunteers for the festival. The festival committee invites individuals to apply as they are “excited to celebrate 5 funkin’ years and would love for you to be involved in whatever capacity you like to offer.” Involvement can range from content creation, social media ambassador or even as a participating artist.
