This week’s artist highlight puts the spotlight on Lizzie Rosales, fourth year Studio Arts major, who said her artistic career took off the moment she could hold a pencil. Rosales mentioned she found her passion for painting portraits in the sixth grade and has recently found a love for creating ceramics. You can check out her work at @lizzoxoart. With her A.A. in Art History and experience working at the Atkinson Gallery, Rosales said she hopes to continue this line of work, whether in a ceramics studio, another art gallery or as an art therapist. Another one of Rosales’ artistic hobbies is music. For three years, Rosales has been the lead singer of a band called GirlDad alongside her friends and her friend’s dad. Together, they have performed in Santa Barbara, California; Ojai, California and Ventura California, and she expressed that she is excited to perform in other cities in Ventura County, California in the future!
