Welcome back, Dolphins! A new school year means a new team for The CI View. Half the team is returning to their original positions, bringing experience and familiarity while the other half welcomes new ideas and fresh perspectives. The CI View also welcomed the first all-women leadership team in a decade, we plan to promote and create space for women in journalism. We hope to bring women’s perspectives, experiences and stories, with this leadership team we celebrate the diverse voices of women across campus. Together, the new team is excited to create stories that highlight the CI people, events and experiences that make our campus special.

Kaylee Holsworth, a senior English major with an emphasis in creative writing, serving as The CI View’s Editor-in-Chief. Holsworth comes from a musical theater background and is a professionally trained singer. Holsworth began singing when she was five years old and found a deep love for. She decided to train professionally because she wanted to strengthen her voice and keep getting better. She chose musical theater because of her passion for performing and being on stage. She shared she has anti-stage fright and always loved being in front of a crowd. Holsworth had plans and dreams to become a singer, but COVID derailed those plans, leaving her to find a new dream. Holsworth also enjoys reading and her favorite book is Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. She loves reading because of how immersive it is and being able to be transported to other worlds without physically going. Rebecca is her favorite book because of its gothic, spooky atmosphere and detailed language. She believes it is an incredibly unique book because you never learn the main character’s name, she is only ever haunted by her husband’s deceased wife, Rebecca. The author, Daphne du Maurier, Holsworth shared she is a masterful author and has the most beautiful descriptions and prose.
Chelsea Grandpre, a senior communication major with an emphasis in organizational communication, who is our Managing Editor. Grandpre studied abroad in South Korea for 17 days, a part of the CI UNIV 392 course. She shared that the highlight of the trip was fully immersing herself in a culture she was unfamiliar with, which opened her eyes to how different cultures interact. Throughout her trip she found a new love for travel and seeing the world. Grandpre also has a deep love for fashion and beauty which started when she was a little girl. She shared she loves being able to express herself through her clothing and accessories, as it boosts her confidence. When asked about her favorite accessory, she answered a purse. Her purses allow her to bring everything she might need and without one she doesn’t feel whole.
Dani Ramirez, a senior psychology major with a minor in art, is our returning Multimedia Manager. Ramirez enjoys making some of her own clothes, she creates them from clothes she no longer wears or doesn’t wear as often. She takes everything from T-shirts, pants, scarves and scraps to what she can create. Ramirez shared this hobby is therapeutic and rewarding to see how she can turn one item into a better version of itself. Her favorite pieces come from upcycling t-shirts, she can turn them into halter tops, babydoll tops, or any other kind of top and even leg warmers. She gets her inspiration from her own imagination but sometimes will look up tutorials on Instagram. Ramirez also shared something she had always wanted to try snowboarding. She always thought snowboarding would be fun, although she has never been to the snow. When Ramirez was little her aunt took her to the zoo to see snow that was brought from the mountains and she thought that was fun. She also enjoys playing games that involve snow like Wii Skii and Sledding Game on her laptop.
Madelaine Brown, a senior studio art major, is our returning Media Editor. Brown enjoys designing and making costumes for festivals, her favorite costume she designed was a jellyfish made from solely fabric scraps and a beach hat. Brown has been involved in theater for more than eight years, which is where she found her love of creation and being able to imagine something and bring it to life. She shared she gets her inspiration from Pinterest and trusting her artistic gut. Brown also shared the one thing she could not live without, which was pasta. She chose pasta because it’s so versatile and anything could work with it. Her favorite kind of pasta is a simple dish of buttered noodles with parmesan cheese. Brown believes the best pasta place is The Old Spaghetti Factory located in Ontario, it has been her go to ever since she was little and that it will never change.
Esmeralda Meckler, a sophomore psychology major on the pre-nursing track with a minor in studio art, serves as the Assistant Managing Editor. Meckler also serves as the vice president of the Pre-Nursing Club, she is passionate about the healthcare field and has a goal of reaching others that feel the same way. She hopes to create a space where fellow students can bond with one another, learn more about the program and share tips to make the nursing application process easier. Meckler also loves going to the movies, she is a frequent movie theater goer and considers Project Hail Mary the best movie release of 2026. She believes that film captured the relationship between fear and hope, not being confident in yourself but finding something beautiful along the way. It was the kind of cinematic masterpiece that reminded her why people go to the theater, it wasn’t just a movie it was an experience.
The CI View team looks forward to an exciting year filled with creativity, collaboration and new ideas. As an all-women leadership team, we hope to bring new perspectives and foster a space where all voices are heard and represented. We look forward to building stronger connections with the CI community, encourage students to share their stories and cover issues that matter most to the student body. We hope to make this a year of growth, confidence and a meaningful change for The CI View and the students we serve. Follow along throughout the year to see what stories we tell, the voices we highlight and the impacts our team continues to make.
