This year  Commuter Services will begin hosting its First Tuesday Food Truck Series. The first event will be Tuesday Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Central Mall.

“The aim this year is to expand on what [commuter services] have done last year, said Jeremy Booker, Coordinator of Commuter Services.

There will be two trucks coming each time, with there being one main one and a second specialty one as well, like an ice cream food truck. However, these food trucks are not free but will accept cash and card.

When picking food trucks, Booker explained that they must have a Ventura County permit. Luckilly, there is a long list of ones to choose from that have the required permit. He also looks at yelp reviews and feedback from students. All feedback can be sent to commuterservices@csuci.edu.

The goal is to not only provide a different variety of food then what is normally offered at CI but to also provide an opportunity to socialize and network with fellow members of the CI Community as well as bringing a part of were some of the students live to the University.

“This program is not going to be successful if it’s just the food trucks, it’s successful if there are conversations happening, community happening” explained Booker.

To stay up to date with the food trucks each month, be sure to follow Commuter Services on social media with the handle wedriveci805.
