Dear Dolphins,
Here it is: a new semester at CI, and I wanted to take a moment to welcome you all back to campus in our first issue of The CI View – student news.
The semester began with a bit of unexpected excitement as our faculty and skilled trades workers engaged in a strike that kept us on our toes, something that we covered this week both with our broadcasting team and with an editorial piece. It was a challenging situation, but I am pleased to report that it concluded at the end of the very first day, thanks to the collaborative efforts of all parties involved. It is a testament to our community’s strength and our dedication to ensuring a positive learning environment for everyone.
Now, as we settle into the routine of classes, let us take a moment to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. Our campus, nestled in the heart of Camarillo, is a true gem. It is not so bad to study when you have such a serene and picturesque backdrop for our academic pursuits. Whether you find inspiration under the shade of a tree or while strolling across the open lawns, there is no denying the tranquility of our surroundings.
Looking ahead, I am excited for the amazing spring semester that awaits us. We have a wealth of opportunities for personal and academic growth, and I encourage each of you to make the most of them. Let us approach our studies with enthusiasm, engage in meaningful discussions, and support one another in our journey of learning and discovery.
As the editorial team of your college newspaper, our mission is to serve the student population by keeping you informed, inspired, and connected. We are here to share your stories, celebrate your achievements, and address the issues that matter to you. Your voices are important, and we are committed to being a platform that amplifies them.
CI is not just a college campus; it is a community, a home, and a place where lifelong memories are made. Let us make this semester one to remember. Together we have the power to create a positive and impactful experience for everyone.
Wishing you all a fantastic semester filled with growth, success, and unforgettable moments.
Best,
Miriam Packard , Editor-in-Chief, The CI View
